Identical by Ellen Hopkins

Summary: Twins
Do they begin in the womb, or somewhere else?

Kaeleigh and Raeanne.

Identical on the outside.

The inside is a different story.

Their father is a judge, their mother a politician.

On the outside they look perfect. Happy.

Just like Kaeleigh and Raeanne.

No one knows what's under the surface, though.

That's where Kaeleigh and Raeanne's differences show.

The misplaced love of their father goes to Kaeleigh.

The only thing Raeanne sees is her father playing favorites. A game which she is miserably losing at.

Kaeleigh's way of dealing is closing up.

Not telling. Not talking. Not letting anyone in.

Raeanne does things her own way.

Sex. Drugs. Alcohol.

It soon shows that these sisters can't handle things the way they want.

They can't control it themselves.

One has to save the other.

But who?

Rating: 5 Stars

This book was nothing like I expected Ellen Hopkins is a brilliant writer. When I got to the end of the book all I could think was whoa. Close to the end of the book I thought I knew what was going on, what was happening. But I soon found out that I had no clue. I've only read Impulse by Ellen Hopkins but I think that this book surpassed that. I love the way she writes. To me it seemed like she weaved all of the problems from her previous book into this one. Well some of them.

Cutting and Suicide- Impulse
Drugs and Sex- Crank and Glass

I know I'm leaving some others out. But I think you get the point. I love when author's do this, but I think that Ellen Hopkins has a special was of doing it. SURPRISE. I can't wait to read the other books but Ellen and buy Tricks when it comes out.

Do you have to read the Ellen Hopkins books in order? The Crank, Glass, etc. series?

I wasn't sure - and I'd really like to start reading them.

Love your blog, by the way!

If Lexi doesn't mind, I'll pop in here and say Glass is a sequel to Crank, but with the others, order doesn't matter.
