Wintergirls by Laurie Anderson Halse

Summary: "'Dead girl walking,' the boys say in the halls.
'Tell us your secret,' the girls whisper, one toilet to another.
I am that girl.
I am the space between my thighs, daylight shining through.
I am the bones they want, wired on a porcelain frame."

Lia and Cassie.

Best friends, frozen in matchstick bodies.

But now, Cassie has killed herself.

Lia's mother doesn't know whats going on.

She's too busy saving strangers lives, to save her daughters.

Her father is always away on business.

Leaving Lia's stepmother, Jennifer, to take care of her and her stepsister, Emma.

But Jennifer seems to be clueless.

Lia hopes that maybe, one day she will be so thin that she'll disappear altogether.

Stay in control, stay strong, lose more, weigh less..

Reveiw: Laurie Anderson Halse creates amazing stories. I've read a couple books but Laurie before, but this one definitely made her a better author in my eyes. I felt that this book was very touching and dealt with a very important issue. Many times people over look eating disorders or even the things that can cause them. Laurie showed how hard it can be for someone to get away from an eating disorder. And also how then can start between friends. I can't wait to read her next book(:
