Old vs. New

The book I choose for this week is Taken By Storm by Angela Morrison.

I reveiewed this book awhile ago, if you want to read my review just click here.

And Angela Morrison also did a guest blog, if you would like to read it click here.

For this post, I'll be showing you the US hardback cover and the US paperback cover.

Old Cover:
Also the US hardback.

I really like this cover. The effect of the boy and girl looking at each other like you caught then in a moment, is nice touch. I also really like the colors. They fit the cover well.

New Cover:
Also the US paperback.

I actually don't like this cover as much as I like the Old Cover. I think this one is kind of cheesy with the boy and girl standing apart and sort of reaching towards each other. It goes the main plot of the novel well, but it's not appealing to the eye. The colors on the other hand, add detail to the cover.

The winner for this week, is the old cover/US hardback. I like the colors and how the boy and girl are facing each other more.

But this post isn't just about me, leave a comment and tell me what your favorite cover was this week!

-Lexi (:

Old vs. New

The book I chose for this week is If I Stay by Gayle Forman.

I reviewed this book awhile ago, if you want to read my review just click here.

For this week, I'll be posting the hardback and two other covers that I think are the paperback and UK versions.

Old Cover:
Also the US hardback.

I love the simplicity of this cover. You can just let your imagination run wild about the characters, the setting.. pretty much every part of this book can have whatever picture in your mind that you want it to have.

New Cover:
Also the US paperback.

(The only picture of this cover that I could find was from Amazon.com so it's not that great.)
I don't love this cover as much as the first one, but it deffinitly has a lot of character to it. The dark colors, the mist, the way the girl's face looks all say something about what If I Stay is about. It depicts the novel very well, but it a subtle way.

Another New Cover:
Also the UK cover.

I like this cover about as much as I love the first one. This cover is very nicely donw. I love how there is a slight effect of snow and how it looks like the girl is almost floating without even really noticing. Personally, I think that this cover shows more of the feeling this novel gives you.

This week, I think my favorite cover is... the new cover, also knows as the UK cover!

I think it had a very fun side to it yet it showed the seriousness of the novel.

But this post isn't just about me, leave a comment and tell me what you're favorite cover was!

-Lexi (:

Old vs. New

The book I choose for this week is Willow by Julia Hoban.

I recently review this book, and I loved it! If you want to read and comment my review just click here.

For this review, I'll be posting the US cover and the UK cover.

Old Cover:
Also the US cover.

I absolutely love this cover. I love how the face is tilted down and it looks like the cover has been cut. To me, it fits the book and Willow well.

New Cover:
Also the UK cover.

Now, I do like this cover just not as much as the other one. I also don't like the new title of the book. I think Scarred just gives a little too much away about the book. I also don't like how the girl on the cover seems to be crying and the background is so dirty but yet her dress is still very yellow.

This week, my favorite cover has to be the old cover/the US one.

But tell me which one was your favorite this week!

-Lexi (:

Old vs. New

The book I choose for this week is I Know It's Over by CK Kelly Martin.

I have not yet reviewed this book, but I will as soon as I get the chance.

Andddd, here we gooo!

Old Cover:

I really like this cover. I think what I like is how she's walking away, hence the title.

New Cover:

I don't think this picture fits the title as well as the first one.

My favortie of the two would probably have to be the old cover.

But tell me what you think!

-Lexi (:

Alternative Covers 10

The book I choose for this weeks post is Just Listen by Sarah Dessen.

So here's the paperback cover:

I think this one fits the title and the story so well.

Here's the UK cover:

I'm not really fond of any of the UK covers for Sarah's books, including this one.

My favorite cover is Just Listen. I think it's amazing and plus, Just Listen is my favorite book by Sarah Dessen.

But I wanna know what cover you like, so please comment and tell me!

Also, what's your favorite book by Sarah Dessen?

-Lexi(:

Alternative Covers 9

This weeks book is Paper Towns by John Green.

I personally adore him, I think he's an amazing writer.

I love all of his books, this one happens to be my second favorite(:

Everyone knows the original, hardback cover:

I really like this cover, I have since it first came out.

I love the bright colors and the girl, but I also love the dark cover:

Those two cover are probably the most known for Paper Towns.

But, Paper Towns recently came out in Australia, so here's the Australian cover:

I adore this cover. It's so.. I don't know how to describe it, but I think it's my favorite cover.

I love how there's the map in the corner and I love how the girls positioned on it.

Like always, I wanna hear what you have to say.

Comment and tell me!

Alternative Covers 8

This weeks book is Forever by Judy Blume(:

Ashley helped me pick out this weeks book. Thanks Ash!

You can visit her blog here(: but back to the post.

Since there's like sooo many different covers, I'm just gonna kinda group them together.

But here's the newest paperback cover. It's the one I own and the one I used for the review:

This one is by far my favorite cover(:

I'm thinking this one is one of the older paperback covers. Like the second newest. Not sure. It's the cover goodreads.com uses. Haha

So these are the rest of the covers that I found. You can tell by looking at them that some are older then others. (:

There ya have it guys(:

I personally loved this book and I know Ashley did too!

Don't forget to comment and give me your thoughts!

-Lexi(:

Alternative Covers 7

I have chosen Before I Die By Jenny Downham for this weeks book(:

I read and LOVED Before I Die. I thought it was amazing.

You can read my review here and comment it if you want(:

For my post, I used this cover:

It's the hardback one.

But when I googled this book, I found two other covers.

Here's the first one:

This one happens to be the UK cover. I actually like this one. Maybe even more then the hardback one.

Here's the final alternative cover:

I think this one is the paperback cover or maybe the audio book cover.

Whatever it is, it's my favorite. I love this cover.

I'm not really sure why THIS one is the one I like the most.

I think it might be how the girl is laying on my grass and the colors in it.

Okay, you all know this part, tell me which cover you like best and why(:

-Lexi(:

Alternative Cover 6

Sarah Dessen.

Who doesn't just LOVE her books?

I don't know, but I know that I really love all of her books.

Personally, I think that they're amazing.

So, this weeks books is, Lock and Key.

Here is the US cover for the book:

This cover definitely goes along with the title of the book.

But, here's the paperback cover:

I think that this cover is REALLY cute! (:

Last but not least, we have the UK cover:

I like the key on this cover, but that's about it.

If you couldn't tell, my favorite cover out of these three is the paperback one.

It's so cute! I love how the girl is just sitting there.

My least favorite is the UK cover. I'm not really fond of any of the UK covers for Sarah Dessen's books.

Anyway, the whole reason for this post is to hear what you have to say(:

So, comment and tell me!

-Lexi(:

Alternative Covers 5

So I was on the computer looking for the cover of Such A Pretty Girl, and I found this cover:

I was really surprised to see that cover. I've never seen it before. I'm pretty sure that it's the UK cover. I don't really remember.

But here's the US cover:

I haven't read the book yet, so I don't know which one goes with the book more.

But I think I might like the US cover more. I'm not sure why, I just think that it fits more with the title. As I said I haven't read the book yet so I'm probably not the best person to give my opinion. Haha.

So why don't you leave a comment and tell me which one you like more?

-Lexi(:

Alternative Covers 4

So, while I was trying to find a book cover for my review of How to be Bad, I found this:

I thought it was cute(:

And since I know what happens in the book, it gave me a good laugh(:

But as you probably already know, I didn't use that cover for the book.

I used this one:

I'm not really sure why, but I like this one better.

I think it might be because of the back of the book.

It has all three characters on it and I love that.

Partly because you can tell which picture is which character and it's cute(:

I always like it when books have the character on the front because it helps me get a picture in my mind about what they look like.

But hey, that's just my opinion.

I'm sure some of you like the first one better for many different reasons.

It's not all about me, so I wanna know what you think about it(:

Comment and tell me!

-Lexi(:

Alternative Cover 3

I recently read Waves by Sharon Dogar.

My school library had the old cover which looks like this:

But when I posted my review, I used this cover:

Now personal, I like the new one more.

I think it's more inviting.

I know you're not supposed to judge a book by it cover, but if I saw the second cover instead of the fist, I would have wanted to read it more.

But I still think that the first cover is nice and simple.

Sometimes simple works better, but I don't really think it does when it comes to this book.

Enough about my thoughts though, I wanna know which one YOU like more.

So leave a comment and let me know!

-Lexi(:

Alternative Cover 2

So everyone who is a fan of John Green has probably heard of his book An Abundance of Katherines.

And when they think of the book they probably think of this cover:

Well that is if you read the book before a couple years ago.

I think that's when the new cover came out:

Then again I'm not really 100% sure when this new cover came out.

I personally like the old cover more. I think it's simpler and to me it seems to fit in better with Green's other cover for Looking for Alaska and his newest one Paper Towns.

So like last time I would LOVE to know what YOU think about the cover.

Your favorite one and why you like that one. :]

Alternative Cover

So I was on the computer and got really bored.

I started googling stuff. That's when I came across this:

It's an alternative cover for Gone by Michael Grant.

I found it at http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/g/michael-grant-2/gone.htm.

And I personally like it more then the first and probably most known cover:

I'm probably the only one who DOES like it more because I usually am.

But I love to everyone else's opinion on the alternative cover. =]

Lexi <3

P.S. I might make this a new feature on my blog but I haven't completely decided yet.
